Now in our 22nd year A Sound Choice has offered guitar and bass lessons since our inception. From the novice of any age to the budding musician, we tailor our lessons to each individual. All of our teachers are professional musicians with years of experience in performing and teaching. We have expanded our program to offer in addition to guitar and bass, lessons on piano, upright bass (double bass), drums, beginner ukulele, mandolin and banjo.
We are proud to have had students go on to be accepted at music colleges and universities as well as becoming great players that have gone on to perform throughout the area.
Enrollment:
Young beginners must be at least 9 years of age with the exception of piano and drum lessons where children can start at five years old.
Students are enrolled for a four-week session consisting of four half hour lessons that are scheduled with the same teacher for four consecutive weeks.
Payment:
Payment of $115.00 plus a $20.00 annual registration fee is to be paid in full at the start of the initial four-week session. Payment for the following four-week session will be due at the fourth lesson. Lesson day and time will remain the same unless other arrangements are made.
A Sound Choice reserves the right to place students with another teacher in the event the current teacher is out on extended leave or discontinues teaching at A Sound Choice.
Attending Lessons:
It is important that students attend all scheduled lessons in order to reach their goals in learning their instrument of choice. The review of the previous weeks lesson and introduction of new material each week with regular attendance and daily practice insures the success of our students. A tab book or manuscript book is required for the teacher to write lessons down.
Lesson day and times.
The day of lesson and time will remain the same and as payment is made at the fourth lesson the students day and time is reserved for the next four lessons. Lesson time and day can be changed to any open slot available, however we cannot guarantee the same teacher as some teachers are only here one day a week.
No day and time slot can be held for students taking extended time off from their lessons. A former time slot may be available so it important to call a week before returning to lessons to check available times.
Missed lessons and make-up lessons:
No make-up lessons will be given for missed lessons unless absence is due to illness with notice being given as soon as possible. Make-up lessons are limited to two per teaching year (based on public school calendar). No refunds are given for missed lessons. School activities such as plays, ski trips, sports games, etc. and spring breaks that differ from the public school system do not qualify for make-up lessons. Any lesson that falls on a holiday on which we are closed will be brought forward to the next week and not missed. Please call in regards to inclement weather as we may be open when schools may have closed due to conditions earlier in the day.
